Brian's Garden:

Everything is getting really big. Especially the weeds in the back. They really react to water. After a week of non-watering they drop and lay on the ground. But once I give them water, they are up and reaching for the sky with in a few hours.

Lalo- Week 6

Lalo's roots are really growing. I give him a little whisky every night to put a little hair on his chest. It must be working. It's been a little cold lately, and Lalo dreads the cold. I have to warm him up every night. Besides that he's doing wonderfully!

Lalo week 4, also "Thanksgiving Day"

Today is Thanksgiving. Lalo and I took a bath together and now we're both fresh and beautiful. We are all ready for Thanksgiving even though neither of us believe in thanksgiving. Lalo is going to stay home and watch the house, while I'm dragged to watch a turkey be slain. Oh well. Lalo is doing wonderful. As you can see he is growing to be a beautiful boy!
Well, I got to get. Lalo is watching the ice skating cancer contest thing on tv and he wants me to keep him company. Well, see ya!

Lalo says hi.

Lalo week 3?

So, My apologies for mine and Lalos lack of communication. We've been having to much fun to document our relationship. Lalo has really jumped on the Black Friday train, while, I got off the train on Black Thursday. Lalo is very excited to go to the gap on Black Friday. I don't know what Lalo sees in the Gap, but I'll go with it anyway. Lalo is looking dapper, as you can tell from the picture (look at that smile!).

happy day to you.

Amy's Garden Week #3

It's week #3! Ever since I've started the project I have been using laundry water, and I really haven't noticed any change in the growth of my plants. I decided to use another source of greywater such as dish/car wash water to see if any changes occur. Although, nothing appears to be different with my succulents, I have noticed sprouts of weeds growing in between the ice plant! You can clearly see the weeds in the first and third photo growing against the rock, I plan to pluck them out so that they don't impose upon the growing progress of my plants.

Brian's Belated Update.

Looks like my succulent succulents decided to bring back a couple of friends from the planting site. But, they could have also came from my water source, which gets a lot of traffic of all sorts.
Two of my plants seem to be growing at an alarming rate, while the other two seem passive, and not willing to reach for the sky. The two that aren't growing as fast are the ones that share soil with the weeds.
Last week I treated my plants with a cocktail of left over water from a car wash, which was the most disgusting water I think I've seen. The dirt in the water has a history of being kicked up from my car in the rural parts of Bakersfield. Not to mention the lovely soap.

Well, enough of my jabbering. Toodles.

Amy's Garden Week #2

I am still using laundry water for my garden, the plants seem to be settling in and adapting more into the glass vase. I also noticed that there is some moss growing in moist parts of the soil underneath the succulents.

Lalo- Week two

dear interested individual,

Lalo and I have been doing very well together. Our relationship is moving faster than expected! Lalo is a great listener. I can Tell him just about anything, and he never judges me. He loves looking out the window and watching the world go by. We recently saw a movie together, and he loved it. The movie we saw was called The 11th Hour. I think he might have grown an inch during the movie. Anyway, we'll be in touch.

sincerely,
Carly Cram

Week #1 - Charles' Garden

So far my garden is doing great I've been keeping it in direct sunlight in the warmest spot in my backyard. The advantages in doing so keeps the soil dry basically its a hardy plant so time to time I like to keep it in my room under direct sunlight in my room window. And because my pot has no drainage hole Im able to just water it less frequently. My water source is dishwater & every friday I use the filthy water from my fishes' bowl as a source to water my plant

Week #1 - Lalo

Dear Person,

I named my plant Lalo. I have nice conversations with him near a nicely lit window. He doesn't have much to say usually. He's been looking a little gloomy as of late, maybe it's due to theview outside the window, really big and beautiful plants, but I assure him one day he'll be just as big and he already is beautiful.

Sincerely,
Carly Cram

Week #1 - Brian's Garden

I've been keeping my garden in direct sunlight, in what is the warmest spot in my house. This has kept the soil relatively dry, as much so as I can get it with out adding direct heat to it. My plan is to keep it as dry as I can, and only water a small amount once per week.
My water source is a leak in the pipes under my sink. A lot of soap and grease residue leaks out into a catch pan, which I'm using as my water. Hopefully, the plants aren't the type that watches their figures.

Week #1 - Amy's Garden

I replanted the garden in a large clear vase and added some rocks at the bottom for drainage. I'm using laundry rinse water for the plants, and because there is no drainage hole I will be able to water it less frequently. I'm also keeping the garden outside so it can obtain more sunlight.
